Six years ago, the Montgomery County Medical Society engaged in a strategic planning process to develop a contemporary strategic vision to address current and projected trends that would impact the society’s ability to represent its members. Board leadership developed a strategic plan that provides a blueprint for MCMS’s vision to become:
- “Go to” source for physician practice concerns in Montgomery County – for both independent and employed physicians
- Viewed as a key health care advocate in the greater Montgomery County community
- Influential in advancing medicine’s concerns to Montgomery County’s local, state, and federal public officials.
For each vision, specific goals were identified and three task forces were created to address and implement the goals – Member Services & Benefits, Public Relations and Political. Each board member is assigned to a task force. Members are encouraged to participate in task force activities and programs. The task forces meet throughout the year and provide updates to its progress to the full board monthly.
Task force chairpersons are: George R. Green MD, Membership Services & Benefits; Martin Trichtinger MD, Political; and Mark F. Pyfer MD, Public Relations
